"Allow Me To Show You Something"

Hello all!

Please allow me to introduce myself and blog. My name is Aleyse Scarborough and I am a student at College of Charleston. Right now, I am working towards earning my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I hope to teach in South Carolina and eventually become an English professor. The purpose of the blog is to highlight the education system in not only South Carolina, but Charleston as well. This blog will feature issues such as high teacher turn-over rates, education disparity, and the Corridor of Shame. Each post, not including this one, will have a center piece painted by myself along with three/four paragraphs that explains the piece, its meaning, its background and its relativity. The school systems in South Carolina could be improve in so many different places and there are many factors that are affected. This blog's sole purpose is to shed light on problems that can be solved and positively impact our youth.
